Message styling

You can change how translated messages look. By default a repost is posted as the author with a small direction subtext (the Compact style), but any server admin can pick a different style on the Servers page or in /serverconfig, on any plan.

Three independent style settings

Each translated surface has its own style, so they can look different:

  • Auto-translate style: how channel auto-translate reposts look (default Compact).
  • Linked-channels style: how linked-channel bridged messages look (default Compact).
  • Reaction style: how public reaction translations look (default Embed).

The available styles

StyleWhat it looks like
CompactReposted as the author, with the direction (flag + language codes) in the name.
EmbedA /translate-style card showing the source, target, and engine.
MinimalJust the translation, posted as the author, with no direction tag.
BilingualThe translation on top, with the original kept underneath as small text.
Flag inlineThe translation prefixed with the target-language flag.
QuoteThe translation as a blockquote with a small direction line.

So you might set a channel members read closely to Bilingual (original kept for reference) while a high-traffic channel uses Minimal to stay tidy.

Personal DM reaction translations are always shown as a card regardless of the server's reaction style.

Reposts also carry a subtle "Get Low's Translator" discovery link in the subtext. Pro and Max plans can hide it (Servers → Auto-translation → Repost branding), which keeps the styles above completely clean. See Settings & server config.
