How it works
Right-click the image
Choose Apps → Translate Image on any message containing a picture.
AI vision reads the text
It finds the text in the image, including handwriting and stylised type, and detects its language.
You get it translated
The extracted text comes back in your language, shown only to you.
What it is good at
- Screenshots of chats and UI
- Memes with baked-in captions
- Photos of signs, menus, and packaging
- Game screenshots and error messages
- Comic and manga panels
- Documents photographed on a phone
Questions
Is this OCR or AI?
It uses an AI vision model rather than classic OCR, which is why it copes with stylised fonts, low-quality screenshots, and text laid over busy backgrounds.
How many image translations do I get?
Image translations are metered separately from text, because each one costs considerably more to run. The free plan includes a small monthly allowance; paid plans include more. See the plans page for current numbers.
Are my images stored?
No. The image is processed to extract text and is not retained. Only content-free usage counts are kept.
Do I need the bot in the server?
No. It installs on your own account and works anywhere you can see the image, including DMs and group chats.
